No battery at all is used inside the top version Glacier 320. Instead the headlamp comes with the Inspire Power Pack, which works like an external battery compartment. Advantage: one can “wear” the power pack – in a backpack, trousers or jacket – depending on the intended use.

Beneath the Glacier 320 Brunton has settled the Glacier 200. This lamp has an integrated rechargable battery but with the combined usage of an Inspire or a ReSync power pack the running time can be considerably extended.

The Glacier 115 is a true multi-talent. It works with regular as well as with rechargeable batteries. For recharging the latter it’s not even necessary to take them out – thanks to SyncTechTM you can charge it with the USB-port directly “inside“ the lamp.

The smallest headlamps of the new series – the Glacier 69 and the Glacier 49 have no USB-port but thanks to the Nichia LEDs they also shine as bright as their bigger brothers.

The suggested retail price for the USB rechargeable headlamps: Glacier 320 115.- Euro, Glacier 200 65.- Euro and Glacier 115 55.- Euro. The smaller versions cost 28.- Euro (Glacier 69) and 18.- Euro (Glacier 49). The numbers next to the names indicate maximum beam in feet.

New footwear in collaboration with ASICS

In 2010, Haglöfs was acquired by ASICS – one of the world’s leading sports footwear companies. This has given Haglöfs access to new technology, design capacity, development resources and extensive knowledge of materials. The first results of the collaboration with ASICS are four trail walking shoes. The shoes are softer and lighter than traditional hiking boots, giving the wearer increased comfort and stamina. Like other Haglöfs products, they are versatile and offer stability that can easily cope with everything from boulders and rock outcrops to forest paths with stones and roots.

The Ridge is a very light trail walking shoe in soft, comfortable leather. The shoe is equally suitable for walking in the forest or urban environments.

The Observe collection encompasses three different shoe models. For spring 2012, Haglöfs is launching the Zolo – a backpack that has been developed for advanced users who have specific requirements in their choice of equipment. All the details on the Zolo have their own obvious place – a place that is based entirely on function. This means the user is able to concentrate all his energy on the experience.

For optimized fit and carrying comfort, the Zolo is equipped with Haglöfs’ innovative Instant™ Adjustable System, which can be adjusted based on the wearer’s back length. The women’s model offers a slightly shorter back length, with shoulder straps and hip belt adapted to the female anatomy.

The Zolo also features the 1-Motion™ Opening System, Haglöfs’ own solution which allows the spindrift collar to be opened in one movement, even with gloves on. Other distinguishing features include a compression strap in the sleeping bag compartment which protects the zipper, smartly positioned storage pockets which can be accessed while still carrying the backpack, attachments for an ice axe or trekking poles, and the facility to reach the equipment through the lid or using a zipper on the front panel.

For spring 2012, Haglöfs is expanding its range of products made of GORE-TEX® Active Shell – a revolutionary material that has added a new dimension to shell garments with good breathability. Active Shell is a 3-layer GORE-TEX® fabric in which the membrane is bonded using an alternative laminating method. The membrane is also much thinner than other membranes. This results in a completely waterproof, very light material with outstanding breathability.

The Tilta Jacket is also designed to suit trekking in warmer environments where there is a need for complete weather protection. The jacket is also suitable for more intense activities where breathability, light weight and a low packing volume are important properties. The ACT Trail’s back construction is made of a tensioned Delrin® frame that is very flexible, yet provides great stability.
